Hi everyone, I am going to Myrtle beach again this spring. I usually stay right down on the main strip in the middle of everything. This time we have chosen to stay at the Bay Watch resort. I know that it is not downtown by the pavillion like I am used to, but how far away from there am I? Does anyone know if there is a pier within walking distance that I will be able to walk to also. And if anyone can give me any other tips or comments about the Bay watch, I am listening.....Thankx
staying at the Bay Watch Resort......
We stayed at Baywatch last summer. It is in North Myrtle Beach, so it will not be near the pavillion like you are used to. There are not any piers in close walking distance either. Barefoot landing is close to Baywatch- just a short drive. Baywtach has lights that lights up the beach at night which is really nice if you like being out there to walk around etc. The restaruant at Baywatch would not be a recommendation of mine- service was extremely slow and the overpriced food was just average. The resort has many pools. Enjoy your trip!

Thankx for the response. Can you remember about how far of a drive it is from right down town on the strip? Thankx again kellie
Kellie...
Its probably 15 miles from the Baywatch to the Pavilion area (the strip)...and depending on what time of day you are planning on making the trip, would depend on how long the drive would take you. A great map to take a look at is the maps on the bus company - LYMO- website:

Have fun! :)
Drove through the area leading up to Bay Watch from RTE 17 about 4 years ago and it was a bit run-down.Has it improved any in the last few years? Once you got down to the beach it was fine.
I wouldn%26#39;t say the area is run down, there are some stores along rt 17 and kept up homes by the streets near Baywatch.. There is an abandoned building beside the Baywatch resort which is an eye sore from the beach- it%26#39;s an old 2 story motel I think. It does sit back a bit and wouldn%26#39;t change my plans on staying at the Baywatch because of it. North Myrtle Beach does have less going on than MB, but someone may prefer that over a busier area.
