Oceanfront Stay

I%26#39;ve been going to Myrtle Beach for years and am looking for some place new to stay. I really do not like downtown Myrtle Beach. Don%26#39;t get me wrong! It%26#39;s ok to go down to see some of the hustle and bustle, but I prefer an oceanfront balcony and a nice view of the ocean. Oh, and don%26#39;t forget the pool. We have always stayed in North Myrtle beach to avoid the crowds. I see that some of you prefer Surfside or Garden City. Are there any very clean oceanfront hotels that you could suggest? Can you hear the airport traffic from that area? Any auggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....I love this forum.

Oceanfront Stay

Garden City and Surfside are nice as is North Myrtle. We always stay in Cherry Grove section of N. Myrtle. You can get a condo for same or less as hotel. I suggest going to Elliot Realty (northmyrtlebeachtravel.com) for North Myrtle and Dunes Realty or Garden City Realty for those areas. Great selection of condos and houses in all price ranges. You can at least see what options are out there.

Oceanfront Stay

Hampton Inn Oceanfront (on the south end of MB). (www.hamptoninnoceanfront.com) It is a beautiful hotel and the cleanest in MB.

We%26#39;ve stayed at Pelican%26#39;s Landing in the Shore Drive area several years. We had a great 3 BR corner condo that we found on VRBO.com. It%26#39;s owned by a nice local couple who take care of and clean it (well) themselves (we met them the last time we stayed there). It%26#39;s a nice area, close to everything, and just down the beach from Ocean Annie%26#39;s.

BUT our group has really grown and we have since moved south to the Surfside/Garden City area. We%26#39;ve never heard the airport from either area. The house we stayed in last was clean and beautiful!

Hampton Inn Oceanfront should be your choice.

Sandy beach resort www.beachtrips.com is a nice hotel. nice staff and very clean. ask for magnolia building.

Just curious as to why you haven%26#39;t considered other parts of the coast if you are tired of MB? There are other very clean, less crowded beaches in NC and SC that have the same to offer as MB in the areas of shopping, dining, daylife, and nightlife.

Why not consider the beaches around Charleston - Sullivan%26#39;s Island, Folly, Seabrook. Charleston is a BEAUTIFUL, historic city with lots of tours, galleries, shopping, dining, %26amp; nightlife and IMO, blows MB out of the water. Or go North into NC and visit one of the beaches around Wilmington - Carolina or Kure. Wilmington is beautiful and historic as well. Have you considered this option?

To second gnodule%26#39;s advice....Hilton Head Island is beautiful %26amp; more quiet than Myrtle Beach. As much as I love Myrtle Beach %26amp; always return, it%26#39;s good to see what other areas offer.

try vrbo - 68214 it is awesome o. f. condo

We just got back from the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach and we loved it.

I second the Avista-its more toward the not so crowded part of the beach and with the new roads around MB it doesn%26#39;t take long to get to the attractions. I would suggest you make sure your reservations are ocean front since some of the ocean view rooms on the front side have a problem at night with the lights from the signs on the front of the hotel and wow they are bright lights. Also don%26#39;t try to do your laundry- you%26#39;re on vacation-save it till you get home...
