My family will be vacationing in Myrtle Beach this summer. Looking for suggestions on where to stay. Would like to be within walking distance to most things. Looking for moderately priced, clean and friendly. Any suggestions would be helpful, as I%26#39;m overwhelmed at this point based on the reviews I continue to read. Thanks, cat

You cant be within walking distance to most things.A hotel like the Breakers would put you in about 8 blocks of the start of the Pavillion area.Lots of congestion in this area, some like it ,I don%26#39;t.
Theres about 3 or 4 hotels within walking distance of Broadway At The Beach but you%26#39;ll have to drive to get to the ocean.
From Shorecrest,Beach Cove and Ocean Creek its about a 10 minute walk to Barefoot Landing.
SO as you see you cant have it all.I always suggest the area of Myrtle Beach between 52nd and 79th.Long Bay,Caravelle,Grande Shores,Forest Dunes and for more money the brand new Marriot are in this area.Great central location an easy drive to all attractions but within walking distance of none. But with residential areas all around this area a great opportunity for joggers and walkers.

Yes, Myrtle Beach is NOT a walking town. Too much traffic and highways to cross. Everything is spread out, however it only takes about 10-15 minutes to drive to most attractions or resturants if your hotel is centrally located as the poster above stated.(and that IS a very nice neighborhood that they suggested) And everything is very easy to find so don%26#39;t worry about driving around.
Thanks - I guess I was thinking MB might be like Virginia Beach. VB had their strip of shops/restaurants/etc. right near the beach by the hotels.
Should I look at hotels at the quieter end?Any comments on the Coral Beach Resort. I do have two girls(15 %26amp; 17). Don%26#39;t want them to get bored. Thanks again!
Coral Beach is not in what would be considered a quiet section but it is definitely far enough away from the Pavillion area. I consider this a great place to stay with teens.
When not traveling with teens %26amp; college kids I prefer to stay much further north. It is quieter there.
