Myrtle Beach Resort

Just thought I would post this again for any people considering booking at this resort. I posted this after I got back from a summer trip here in July 2005. :

Just got back from Myrtle Beach vacation. Stayed at the Myrtle Beach Resort in Surfside. Grounds and pools at the resort were wonderful, unfortunately our single bedroom condo was terrible. I paid $1100 for the week and got a room with old carpeting (gum included), chips in the fold away bed along with a worn mattress about 1'; thick, damaged walls, no toilet paper holder, dirty grungy plastic balcony furniture, and lastly but not least a cockroach in the living area.

I booked this room on-line assuming for the price and the pictures that I would be getting a good room. I found out the hard way that this is not the case. My complaints to the General Manager at Myrtle Beach Resorts (Vacation Resort Services) were met with a ';You can check out Sir!'; with no money back.

Apparently there is another company at this resort that leases out condo%26#39;s other than Vacation Resort Services. I would recommend looking into this other condo manager if you would like to stay here. Vacation Resort Services only leases out the condos for apparently what are slumlords. They have NO STANDARDS as to cleanliness or what the condo%26#39;s will look like.

I learned a hard lesson this past week, and I would urge anybody looking to rent out a condo to know or contact the actual owner of the property.

Myrtle Beach Resort

I am writing to you because I am very sorry that your vacation was less than expected at the Myrtle Beach Resort.

I am a homeowner at the resort. My unit is in the Five Seasons area.Our unit is always kept in very good condition and I know of many other owners who have great units too.

Right now I am using Chicora for our rental needs.

I think the resort is great. It has a great location with so many pools,hot tubs,The Lazy river, etc.There is so much to do.

We pay a very high fee to the association to maintain the property and grounds.The resort always looks well maintained and so should your rental condo.

I hope you give the MBR another chance and I hope you have a great experience.
