Any Ideas?

Looking at maybe going to myrtle beach this summer for a family reunion. I haven%26#39;t been there in some 15 years. Any suggestions about where to stay? We have a lot of little kids with us ages 2-8. Looking for something that is in a fun, safe, clean area. Any suggestions? Your advice is greatly valued and appreciated.

Any Ideas?

My family and I have been traveling to Myrtle Beach for years. We often go in a large group, so finding something that makes everyone happy was difficult at first. Then, we found the Breakers Resort. There is something for EVERYONE, it is quiet, and family friendly. Everyone from the ten month old to my 68 year old uncle found something they enjoyed. One colder day, we had an entire indoor pool to ourselves for four hours! One suggestion- if you don%26#39;t have a car or have people that can%26#39;t walk down the beach for an extended period of time in your party, don%26#39;t stay in the North Tower- all the indoor pools, restaurant, and bar are split between the other two resort buildings. They are always updating their rooms, so no worry of ten year old furniture. We have been in the same room three years in a row and it has looked different every time!

Any Ideas?

Last summer we had a family reunion at the Carolina Winds hotel which is in a great neighborhood at the north end of Myrtle Beach. There were 42 of us total with 15 kids under the age of 14, 2- 16 yr olds, and 3- 22 yr olds. The staff was VERY accomodating for this large group. One night, they were kind enough to open their resturant (which is normally NOT open for dinner, just breakfast and lunch) and they prepared us a great buffet just for our crowd. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool, lazy river, indoor pool (although it is rather small) and two hot tubs and an arcade. The location of the hotel is great; very convenient to grocery stores, shopping and resturants.

No matter where you stay though, the kids will not be bored, because they will have each other to play with.

Have fun!

I%26#39;ll bet the kids would love a hotel with a waterpark. I%26#39;ve seen several of these; one is just to the north of Long Bay (beachfront at 73rd St. in the north end). Maybe someone can give names. Looks like even the grownups have fun at these.

That would be either the Ocean Dunes or the Sand Dunes (both part of the Sands Resorts)...they have a great water park right there at the complex, and pretty new property too. The beach in this area is really great --- nice and wide and clean. A number of options for meals, grocery within 2 miles, bus stops in front of the hotels if you want to go into the downtown area...

Have fun...Myrtle Beach is a great place for a family reunion! So much to do! :)
