We have 3 kids and are either going to WDW in florida or to Myrtle beach next summer . last time we stayed at the Compass cove and were not un-happy but not thrilled . i haven%26#39;t heard anything bad about Crown Reef but was wondering if anyone stayed there before? any and all information is helpful.
Is the Crown reef really worth it and
There are lots of bad reviews on this website about them, but I stayed there and had a great time. My room was clean and the facilities were nice. I would not pay full price for there rooms, they are always running specials, I got an Ocean Front effeciency for $89 a night so I was really happy. It is not a 5 star resort but I thought it was one of the nicer hotels and I wasa trying to decide between Compass Cove and Crown Reef, and I thought the Crown Reef was nicer.

We stayed at the Crown Reef in mid August and had an oceanfront suite. There was plenty of room for myself, my husband and 15, 18 and 20 yr old kids...well not really kids! Our suite was clean and had a full kitchen if you wanted to cook, which we didn%26#39;t do. The lazy river was great to cool off in after being on the beach. Everyone we met who worked at the hotel were accomodating...my husband and son played gold twice and the golf desk made the arrangements. The prices for golf were less than those advertised in the paper or those tourist books.
I think the price was fair...coming from New Jersey where you pay an astronomical amount of money for a terrible room at the Jersey Shore we felt we got good value. The location is at the end of the strip of hotels so the beach is fairly quiet.
I read many complaints about the hotel before we went and was apprehensive. However, you have to consider that it is at the beach, there%26#39;s alot of sand, things are going to be wet and damp. The elevators were fairly fast, but not air conditioned. I don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s any different than most of the other hotels.
One thing I would suggest is try to get on a higher floor if you want to be sure it%26#39;s quiet. People stay in the pool till10:00pm when it closes...we were on the 9th floor and basically heard nothing. You could sit outside and enjoy the view!
thanks we are looking into hotels now and have friends that just moved to the area so I am waiting to see if they are close to the crown Reef. Thanks for the tips nad help will post where we decide to stay.
To rdhawk: Amen to what you said about the Jersey Shore.Im from N.J.and a Myrtle Beach vacation blows away the N.J.Shore for price, things to do,restaurants, golf and shows.Next time you visit try Villa Mare restaurant on 79th and 17.
I know some people that had some bad experiences with crown reef. Dirty room, rude workers, overpriced for the dirtyness. the outside is real nice but I anit so sure about the inside. Oh and by the way when you go to the lobby to check in you have to walk across the street to get to it so be careful with the kids.
