August

How is the weather usually in August. We are thinking of visiting the last week. Is there still alot of people there?

August

Also, can anyone recommend a resort that does not have to many children there? Thanks!

August

HOT. YES. (will be VERY crowded). Most resorts will have kids in abundance. Would be way less of them if you go just a few weeks later in September (Less crowded %26amp; less expensive, too.

I agree...September is a wonderful time to go! We were there the week after Labor day last year. The weather was perfect! The water was still nice and warm, and the humidity was way down compared to the middle of summer! Crowds will be down and the kiddies back in school! Have a Great time!

The weather is August is very nice. The best part is the ocean water temperature- like bath water! If you are used to the Jersey shore water temp. you will really enjoy it. Have a good vacation.

Thanks everyone!

Bailey.. August is an excellent time to vacation in Myrtle Beach..beaches are not crowded.. we

usually visit the third week or the last week in August for the past 10 years.. Always have an excellent time...

Yes, still very crowded in August. The average air temp is 89 and water temp is 85. Enjoy!

Forest Dunes on 55th and Ocean does not have a lot of children when I go there the 2nd and 3rd weeks in August.Excellent views from the 6th floor on up.Close to Pine Lakes and Myrtlewood if your a golfer.Best to get early tee times if you are.

August is great! Still a bit crowded, but its thinned out quite a bit from the July crowds that we see. Its like most people that come in August in getting in that last beach fix before winter sits in. And with the SC schools starting later this year (they used to start 1st week of August, now they%26#39;ll start the 3rd Monday) this could increase the crowds a bit.

It can be hot and muggy -- and with winds blowing from the west, which means no cooling sea breeze, the ';biting'; flies will be around. But the ocean water is nice and warm, and if the flies bother you, just bring a bit of mosquito spray, that seems to do the trick.

As far as locations that dont tend to have a number of families staying there...I would take a look at The Mariott at Grande Dunes, Sea Island, or Forest Dunes. Have fun! :)
