I would suggest that you read the reviews for the Sea Mist, which can be found by scrolling down and finding the sea mist on the list on the left side of this page. I have read more negative than positive reviews, and it seems to be in need of updating...but I am not the expert, just spent a few weeks researching for our upcoming trip to MB.
I would also suggest that you go through other postings on this forum to learn more baout other hotels that would be comparable in price but seem to be getting much better reveiws. In addition to Coral Beach, you may want to check out Sea Watch, Dayton House, and Forest Dunes,as some of the other medium priced complexes that seem to get decent reviews. It all depends on what type of ameneties you%26#39;re looking for.
We were looking for newer, more upscale resorts, that are a bit more expensive than those I mentioned above, but we were able to get a great deal at a brand new resort. We will be stying at the brand new Sea Island on the Beach, which is opening in May, but our other top considerations were Hampton Inn %26amp; Suites, Marriott Grande Dunes, and Southwinds (which has some undesireable construction going on now).
Good luck with your search and enjoy your trip!
I agree with Dancetraveler...check out the reviews on the Sea Mist here --- its a huge property, very popular with the family reunion crowds...has alot of the same amenities as the Coral Beach, but I cant remember it being updated in the past several years. It%26#39;s not too far from the Landmark, I cant think right now what hotel its next door to them tho.
And quite a bit of roadway construction going on right now...when were you looking at making your trip?
We are going March 10-13. I read some of the reviews and the reviews get worse and worse the closer that you get to todays date. I am sort of worried abot it so I am sort of sticking to Coral Beach as of now. Do you think I will need to make reservations for then or do you know? THanks
We have booked the Seamist for our senior trip because we were able to sleep 6 adults in a room. Many of the hotels, although there are 6 beds, do not allow 6 adults due to fire regulations. We weren%26#39;t told this until we were deep into our research. When we booked the Seamist, we did get rooms which had been recently renovated. I, too, am somewhat worried because of the negative reviews. But, to answer you question, I think some of the rooms have been renovated within the last 3 years. Hope this helps.
The Sea Mist is right next door to the Coral Beach as I recall...we watched the little ones playing in one of their kiddie pools one afternoon...to cute! We stayed there quite a few years ago...our room was your adverage hotel room...2 beds, bathroom, no kitchen, our kids were young and we were on a budget. We were across the street from the ocean in the building that houses their sandwich shop. My son who was 12 at the time loved it...he was allowed his first taste of freedom away from us parents as we let him go play putt putt and enjoy the kids water park with just his friends. All in all we had a good time but we didnt spend time in the room..to darn busy keeping up the kids. It was a great place for kids but I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;d never choose it now. Hopes this helped.
Thanks for the replys!! I thought is was next to or near Coral BEach but I was not positive. I believe that we are going to end uo staying at Coral Beach.

Some hostels offer a meal or two as part of the price.
