Hello fellow travelers.
Has anyone had success in getting around Charleston Holiday Inn%26#39;s 2 night min stay on the weekend? I tried to book a Saturday night in March but without any luck.
Or perhaps there is a comparable hotel you might recommend.
Thank you so much.
Charleston Holiday Inn
With all the activities going on in March (Food and Wine Festival on Mar 2 - 5 and the House and Gardens Tour beginning on Mar 16), most places in town will more than likely have minimum stay requirements for the weekends.
Charleston Holiday Inn
Thank you for the heads-up. I didn%26#39;t know so much was going on in March. We are flying into Charleston on March 25th before heading to Kiwah Island for the week. I thought we would stay overnight in Charleston making our way to the Island. Looks like I%26#39;ll have to start working the phones.
Thanks again.
Staying overnight in Charleston is a fine idea, but really unnecessary unless you just want the experience. Kiawah is not that far at all from Charleston. It%26#39;s only about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.
Floski,
Thank you for your response. I was hoping to spend the night to experience Charleston before going Kiwah. Also meet friends who would travel to Charleston from their town which is further south.
Any thoughts about a hotel for a night?
If you can%26#39;t turn up something you like in Charleston, consider having your friends meet you at Kiawah, which also is south of Charleston, and driving into town for the evening. The drive from Kiawah to Charleston is relaxing - 45 minutes on slow but picturesque local roads. Public parking in Charleston is well-located and inexpensive.
Check out Orbitz and see what comes up. Here%26#39;s a couple places that may be available for 1 night...Doubletree Historic District (on Church Street) and the Mills House (on Meeting Street). The Mills House (www.millshouse.com) is a Holiday Inn property but you%26#39;d never know it as there%26#39;s nothing saying Holiday Inn...it%26#39;s a little more upscale than a typical HI. Anything with Harborview as a location is not going to be close to the ';historic'; area for walking but a quick car ride to that area.
Enjoy your visit!
