Can someone please tell me if the ';Dead Dog Saloon'; is still there? It%26#39;s been over 11 years since we have been back to Myrtle Beach, and we used to go there during every visit. We are coming there next Tuesday, and reading the forums makes me so excited to see it again. I%26#39;m sure it has changed a lot from then. All of your information and wisdom is so helpful - more than you%26#39;ll ever know! Thanks again:)
Dead Dog Saloon?
Fear Not! The Dead ';Pooch'; (as my wife %26amp; I call it) is alive %26amp; well and still a great place to have drinks and/or eats while enjoying unobstructed views of Murrell%26#39;s Inlet. At sunset you can see the reflections on all the windows of the houses on Garden City%26#39;s southern point. Until the weather warms up, they have the deck enclosed in plastic %26amp; its somewhat heated (can still be chilly).
Might look a little different than your last visit, but just cruise south on 17B %26amp; you can%26#39;t miss it (on your left just after Divine Fish House...it%26#39;s the last place before the big parking lot at the marina).
Dead Dog Saloon?
I really appreciate that information, but the one we went to was just walking distance from the Patricia Grand, kinda down a side street off N. Ocean Blvd. Would this be the same one only moved to Murrel%26#39;s Inlet? It was really quite small, but had a beautiful old wooden bar and a small patio outside. They had pictures of naked people in the bathrooms I think. In fact, my sister-in-law%26#39;s brother was down there golfing a long time ago and stoled one of the pictures from the men%26#39;s restroom, but took it back the next day when he sobered up! Thanks again for everyone%26#39;s insight - you don%26#39;t know how much I appreciate hearing from insiders - it makes a big difference between a good vacation and a great vacation !!
Hey...what the heck was he doing with that picture (LOL)...anyhoo, never heard of any other ';Dead Dog,'; just assumed you meant the one in MI. The place you refer to, if still there, must have another name.
The original Dead Dog on 26th ave. is closed, has been relocated to Murrells Inlet and recently opened a 2nd location at coastal grand mall. Both places are awesome, coolest bar/restaurants on the beach. live entertainment 7 nights a week. Dead Dog rocks
And that ';original'; Dead Dog Saloon building is now an awesome place to eat and listen to some great tunes....its called The Flying Fish....some good fish tacos there too!
Do love the ';new'; Dead Dog at Coastal Grande Mall...perfect fit in the old Buckhead building! And if Act II is playing, make sure you stop by!
Thank you all so much for the information! I knew I could count on y%26#39;all. We%26#39;re leaving in the morning from TN and can%26#39;t wait to try all these places out - we%26#39;ll have a drink for everyone!!
