1st timers looking to go sometime in october for 10 year anniversary for 3 nights suggestions where to stay not sure if we should stay in charlston or kiawah island? Also what hotels do you suggest. How%26#39;s weather that time of year. would end of september be cheaper. Any info much appreciated....
charlston or kiawah island?
What a great surprise that will be. Chas vs. Kiawah depends on what you want to do. Hotels depend on your budget. The new resort on Kiawah (the Sanctuary) is a very highly rated, and correspondingly high priced, place. In my opinion, somewhere downtown would be perfect for an anniversary trip. You will be within walking distance to incredible shops, dining and historic sights.
Weather in October should be fairly nice, particularly compared to Michigan. It will be getting cooler at night by then. I would prefer the weather then than September when it can still be brutally hot and humid.
Hotels for downtown, depending on budget: the Mills House, Meeting Street Inn, Charleston Place, Hampton Inn. There are also lots of little B%26amp;Bs spread all through the area which would be a terrific alternative to hotels and probably less expensive.
Have a great trip!
charlston or kiawah island?
I will be at the Santuary with my husband for 5nights and 2 nights in Charlston at the Planters inn on march 15.I will write a post when I return.
Where would you stay for around $300.00 a nignt? Any suggestion on hotels/B%26amp;B in that price range. Harbour view inn Suite $300.00 but will I be missing out in the experience of charleston charm not staying at B%26amp;B. The two places I called Wentworth %26amp; Governors Inn wanted $500.00 a night.
For any of our visitors that want the Charleston experience, I always recommend the Mills House. It is downtown, not quite as expensive, and is historic yet comfortable.
Kiawah is great, but it is about a solid hour from downtown depending on traffic. Good choice if you plan on staying on the island.
The weather in October is usually perfect. 70%26#39;s in day and 50%26#39;s - 60%26#39;s at night. Also past the hurricane season. Staying downtown also allows you to walk to some of the best restaurants in the country and have a nice stroll back to your hotel.
