Hi. For a change of pace, we are thinking about squeezing in a couple of days at the Woodlands Resort in Summerville between visits to Charleston %26amp; Savannah. This is our first trip to the area so I was wondering if there are things to do within close proximity to the resort (plantations to tour, etc.). Also, my husband has his heart set on golfing the Ocean Course at Kiawah...... would that be an unreasonable drive from the Woodlands?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Woodlands Resort in Summerville?
To be more exact, I checked with yahoo maps. They say it%26#39;s about an hour and a half each way between Summerville to Kiawah Island. On the other hand Kiawah is just about a half hour from Charleston.
Woodlands Resort in Summerville?
It would be quite a drive especially if his tee time is around rush hour but it really is a beautiful course!
As far as things to do, Summerville itself is pretty quiet without much going on. However, all the plantations on the Ashley (Middleton Place, Magnolia Gardens and Drayton Hall) would be a pretty easy drive from the Woodlands...they%26#39;re only about 12-13 miles from the resort.
Just my two cents worth, since this is your first (of many I%26#39;m sure) visit to our fine city, I would stay downtown this trip and enjoy all there is to do there and then stay at the Woodlands on a return trip.
Whatever you do, I am sure you%26#39;ll have a wonderful time!
I%26#39;m thinking she%26#39;s taking that main road out of Charleston and connecting to the main road south to Savannah or vice-versa and the intersection is near The Woodlands. Afternoon tea is fantastic at The Woodlands.
