carribbean resort/under construction?

Hello! Can anybody tell me if the CR is under construction. I was down 2 years ago and am contemplating coming again this July. I have received many special offers and just wondered if the noisy construction was the reason. Would appreciated any feedback. Thank you in advance!

carribbean resort/under construction?

It is under construction..in fact over half of the building has been demolished for a ';new and improved CR';. Not sure of the time line for completetion of the project, but was just past there yesterday, and its still pretty much a mess. But, it usually doesnt take long once they get going on a project....maybe a phone call or an email would be a wise idea.

Thank you for your input.

It is due to be finished Spring 2007....so my guess would be that it would be a very loud noisy mess while I was there in July...lol Any other kid friendly, clean, resorts near there?

well.....just found out the 5-story building is gone, indor pool and jac. area are unavl., kiddie area is closed, and outdoor pool and lazy river may or may not be avl. this summer. Now I am in desperate search for somewhere. :O(

Im taking it you want to stay in the area from there going south? Hmmmm...The Breakers have really updated their property lately and added a number of ';kid things to do';. The Camelot is kind of right next door (Bummz Cafe is between the two) Another option would be a bit north, say either the Sands at 77th North, Ocean Reef, or Long Bay.

Farther south....Coral Beach has recently updated a number of there rooms and they do have all those fun things kids want to do.

Guess I was amazed when they were talking about leveling that building. They were also talking about leveling the Sea Captains House and moving it to somewhere else....well, needless to say, a number of locals were pretty vocal on that one....and it looks like it will stay :)

Hi Luvnsummer!

I second the choice of the Coral Beach Resort. Was there last year the week after labor day. Loved the place and can%26#39;t wait to go back this year and see all the improvements! Tons of fun stuff for kids, lazy river, indoor jungle gym, kiddie pools, game room and bowling alley. Great beach bar with live music. Wherever you choose have a wonderful vacation!

Have they torn down the Jamaican next door to add to the Caribbean?

The Jamacian is still there. Not sure what the plans are for the near future, but looks like they have escaped the wrecking ball for at least this summer. Seems a number of the smaller ';mom and pops'; are losing their stance here at the beach. It%26#39;s a bit sad to see the trend, but when most folks come down looking for all the bells and whistles, its hard for the smaller properties to compete.

Our group( 20 golfers)stayed at the CR 3 months ago %26amp; they were demolishing the indoor pool as well as all the rooms to the north of the pool.We couldn%26#39;t use the outdoor spa %26amp; had to go across the street.

We got in 7 games of golf %26amp; plan on going again next Nov.We drive down(18 hrs which we do in 2 days).

Wer%26#39;e looking for other accomodations to be on the safe side.Any suggestions on where to book a golf package ( preferably on or near the beach) would be greatfully appreciated! Thanks.

Rico,

We like the Sea Cloisters 3 bedroom condos that are Oceanfront. When our guys come we each get our own private bedroom.

We always use Bill Bernschein who is the PGA professional at mbgolf.com .

He gives us personal service too because he really knows the courses.

I agree with DClady about Coral Beach Resort
