Where To Stay in Myrtle Beach?

Well, I am going a little crazy looking at all the different hotels and various comments while surfing the web. Looking to stay for a week in June with family of 5 (2 grown children and a young teen).

Have been focusing on the Coral Beach and like the various amenities (entertainment, etc.) However, now I kinda like the look of the Hampton Inn %26amp; Suites. There two bed/two bath suites look like they would work great. So, I am open to any and all comments about these two hotels or others. Its been years since all of us have taken a week together, so $ is not really a big issue, but a clean, comfortable and fun spot are! Please help!

Where To Stay in Myrtle Beach?

I say Coral Beach. I replyed the the other post for more information.

Where To Stay in Myrtle Beach?

Check out Crescent Shores, Avista, Ashworth on VRBO.com.

Coral Beach has alot of ammenities, rooms are decent (they have recently renovated), but if you are looking for a really nice room, and dont really care about all the bells and whistles, The Hampton OF is beautiful! And the staff there are great. Not to knock the staff at Coral Beach either --- it%26#39;s just that the Coral Beach is such a large property and a bit older.

Both hotels are in the same general area...not far from some of the local attractions, restaurants and such.

You may want to check out a few websites (if you havent already!)

www.strandmagazine.com

www.golymo.com

Hope this helps! :)

MB Concierge, could you please reply to my follow up post at my other posting on Coral Beach Resort, posted today also.

Narrowed down (I think)to Coral Beach or Sea Island. Any comments?

I will comment again. I say Coral Beach resort. The reason is because of all the amenties, friendly staff, spacious rooms, the maids clean GREAT, you do not have to park across a busy street. they have recently spent 2.5 million dollars in renovations, and because it was voted ';The Best Family Resort'; by the travel channel. Here is there website.

ALso you can read some of there reviews to help you out also.

Dan,

Didnt get a chance yet to reply to your other post, but if you are deciding between Coral Beach and Sea Island, I think I would have to go with Sea Island, for just a couple reasons.

Granted, Coral Beach has recently updated...thats TOTALLY different than demolishing the building and starting over from ground up -- which is exactly what Sea Island has done. That would be my 1st reason...its brand new!

Second...if you have read any of my posts you know how I feel about the beach in the area where Sea Island is located. Its the best stretch of beach in the area..of course thats my opinion...you can surf in this area, fish, swim, sail etc...the beach is wide, even at exteme high tides.

Sea Island does sit by itself, but is just a short walk either direction to the area where Ocean and Forest Dunes are located or to the ';Avenues'; section where Grande Shores, Monteray Bay and others are. Plus you are close by to some great restaurants...Villa Mare, Collectors, Liberty Tap Room and Grille, City Bar, Bonefish Grill, San Francisco Oven, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Flamingo Grill, Fiesta Mexicana, Sam%26#39;s Corner, St Clements....gosh, I got going and didnt realize HOW many...but a number more...

If you want attractions, you are just a short car ride or bus trip to those...

So, I would have to say if it were me...I%26#39;d go with Sea Island. They were a top notch staff with great accomodations prior to the refurb, cant see that they%26#39;s spend all that money to be something less than what they were.... :)

I was just looking at Sea Isands websire and they want open til May but you are going in June so that anit a problem. Sea Island don%26#39;t have as many amenties asCoral beach such as Bowling alley, Arcade, pool side bar, comedy club, but I agree with MBC because they have built from scratch

CBR,

Sea Island will have a poolside bar and grill. They had a small poolbar before they remodeled, but they have decided to enlarge it and have a grill option there too for their guests. :)

MBC, (and others)

Thanks to you (and others). You are all very kind. As far as the seclusion of Sea Island compared with Coral Beach is, I measured the distance from the Pavilion to each as a reference point. Its 12 miles-Sea Island and 6 miles-Coral Beach, both more than walking distance if I figured correctly. I guess what I am trying to say, and correct me if I am wrong, I%26#39;m driving or riding the bus no matter which one I stay at, right or wrong?

Speaking of driving, can you shed some light on it-traffic, parking, difficulty in getting around? One last thing (at least for this message!), any word on whether Sea Island is on schedule to open in May?

Thank You.
