golf couse and dinner cruise

What are the golf courses like on Hwy 61? We will be staying in that area and my husband would like to go golfing while we are there. Also, has anyone been on the Spiritline Dinner Cruise? We will be in Charleston for 3 nights and wondered if this would be be something we should do one night. There are so many restaurants to choose from and so many things to see and do.Any advice you could give would be much appreciated. Thankyou!

I am not a golfer, but I think that the only golf course on HWY 61 is Shadowmoss Golf Course. I know that there is some out on Kiawah ($$$) and some in Mt. Pleasant and a few scattered out in North Charleston.

You will get a lot of different opinions on the dinner cruise. I have done the cruise once and it was just ok for me. The atmosphere was nice because you were out on the boat at night and they had nice music playing, but the food was just average. Now this is just in my own opinion! We have done the Schooner Pride which is a tall ship that does sunset sails. We enjoyed that- It was casual and there was no food served (you can purchase a beer or mini bottle of wine) but we had a really nice time and it was very relaxing. You could maybe go out to dinner after your sail.

Make sure you make reservations for which ever one you decide.

FYI- if you go to the CVB%26#39;s website there is a link on there for gold courses. www.charlestoncvb.com

What is with my spelling today??? Golf courses sorry :)

Thankyou for suggestions. I went to the golf sites but didn%26#39;t see prices and as we%26#39;re not from the area I wasn%26#39;t sure where they were located. I think the courses at Kiawah are out of our price range. Do you know of any moderately priced courses?

Not sure if you found this site or not but it%26#39;s the Charleston Golf Guide: www.charlestongolfguide.com

Here%26#39;s the link to Shadow Moss%26#39; site: www.shadowmossgolf.com. Looks like you have to call for rates.

Another course in West Ashley is Stono Ferry (www.stonoferrygolf.com). Go to the above site, click on ';courses'; and then look for Stono Ferry under West Ashley. Their prices may be a little better for you...the most expensive is $73 and that%26#39;s for Fri-Sun before 2PM. Anything out at Kiawah or Seabrook will be expensive...the Ocean Course at Kiawah is around $250/round...YIKES!

Not sure where on 61 you%26#39;re staying, but another option is Legend Oaks (www.legendoaksgolf.com) in Summerville. You could call them and see how far they are from your hotel. It%26#39;s a pretty course.

Sorry, can%26#39;t help with the Spirit Dinner Cruise.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks TravelGirl, I could not remember the Golf web-site and you thought of some I did not mention.

WE will be staying at Inn at Middleton Place.I%26#39;ll go to the sites that were mentioned.Everyone has been so helpful. Thankyou!
