Hi,
We%26#39;ll be playing golf for several days in the Kiawah area and wonder what else there is to do besides lie on a beach or go to a nature preserve/canoe/kayak trip. We will take one day to explore the area and we%26#39;ll be out every night, what should we do/where should we go?
Thanks,

what to do at night near Kiawah Island
It depends on the time of year as to what activities are going on, either on Kiawah or downtown. The Resort check-in desk will have a booklet outlining activities on the island and there is a visitors%26#39; center located in Town Hall on Beachwalker Drive just before the Kiawah gate that can provide area information.

thanks, I%26#39;ll be down on Kiawah near the end of April. I%26#39;ve researched the island and wonder what else is nearby as well.

Charleston is probably your answer to night time activity. I normally only visit Kiawah in June and they have lots of activities planned during the summer months. I always check with the Charleston Visitor%26#39;s Center for events in Charleston. They are always friendly and helpful. I have small kids, however if you are traveling without kids then make sure to eat at the Charleston Grill located inside the Charleston Place Hotel. Upscale and expensive--worth every penny. If you don%26#39;t want to spend as much then try Slightly North of Broad (S.N.O.B.) It%26#39;s awesome, gourmet and it%26#39;s a bit more relaxed. Mostly adults with a small bar, however I was comfortable taking my kids there to eat. Have fun. I love Charleston and Kiawah.
Kiawah is very quiet at night, which is not too bad if you%26#39;ve been out all day for golf/tennis/kayaking/bicycling/etc. The island is like an elegant sleep-away camp for grown ups.
If you are going to Kiawah in the summer months, attend an oyster roast (once a week May until September though the Kiawah Island Golf Resort). If your group plays Bridge, evenings on Kiawah are a good opportunity.
Charleston is fabulous! Great restuarants and lots of local charm.
eat at Ansons in Charleston.
have a designated driver. the ride home on bohicket road at night is not for the alcohol impaired!
