I have read so many reviews and now I%26#39;m lost. I read about a place that you can see the fireworks from your balcony and collect shark%26#39;s teeth in the morning. I think it said it was a few blocks from the boardwalk? Any ideas?
Fireworks?
Are you talking about the fireworks at Barefoot,Boardwalk At The Beach,or one of thr beach displays. You wont believe the illegal displays that get set off on the beach, its like one trys to outdo the other on the 4th of July.Im sure MBConcierge will have some knowledge on this subject.
Fireworks?
I couldn%26#39;t believe the firecrackers and fireworks that are set off at night along the beach. Not just on the pier, but everywhere. Beach patrol does come along ever so often and stops them, but the kids just come back after a while and set more off. One time we were awaken at 3:00 in the morning with firecrackers going off right in front of our hotel on the beach.grrr!
And fireworks are set off from the piers not just on July 4th, but usually once a week I believe.
2nd ave pier on tuesday nights.
Funny out fireworks brings out the kid in all of us!
Just to remind all that shooting off fireworks on the beach if illegal..and there is a pretty stiff fine if you are caught. With that said, it is a law that isnt strictly inforced (to the dismay of those residents that live in the line of the action).
I agree with DCLady...man, the 4th can be crazy! Just grab yourself a seat anywhere along the oceanfront and you can watch fireworks from dusk til dawn....no kidding! And, if you try to walk the beach on the night of the 4th...its like being in the line of fire! C-R-A-Z-Y!
We have 3 nights of scheduled fireworks...
Monday --- Barefoot Landing
Turesday --- Broadway at the Beach
Wednesday --- 2nd Ave Pier, MB
Of course, on the 4th we have fireworks, and sometimes on the 3rd...and other holidays...Labor Day, Can Am Days, Sun Fun Fest. Then you also have fireworks at some the Pelicans games (that our Atlanta Brave farm team). So we have PLENTY of great shows!
Great shark teeth area is in between 48th Ave N to 67th Ave N..we always find a number of them! It sometimes amazes folks that we find that many!
Places to stay in that area with a great balcony...Southwind Villas, Forest Dunes, Sea Island (opens May), going more south (closer to 2nd Ave) Dayton House, Atlantica, Camelot...just to name a few!
Happy Hunting! :)
