Hello... I am planning on coming to Myrtle Beach over Spring break and I was looking for a place for me and my friend to stay that is close to the main attractions. We are just two gals looking to have fun and let loose- and we want something within walking distance of the shopping, dining and bars (we are both 24). I have been looking at the Holiday Inn at the Pavillion. I have never been to Myrtle Beach and I really don%26#39;t even know where the attractions are. And what is the atmosphere during spring break?
HELP! Need input.
Spring break here at the beach isnt as crowded as say Panama City or Daytona..but we do have a pretty good spring break crowd..
Most of the attractions are in two different areas in Myrtle Beach --- you have the Boulevard (or the strip -- great for cruising at night), %26amp; Broadway at the Beach (which is nowhere near the beach, about 2 miles away). If you want something within walking distance to shopping, dining and entertainment and you dont mind taking you car or grabbing the bus to go the beach, I would suggest staying near Broadway...maybe check out the Hampton Inn Broadway or the Holiday Inn Express. Another option would be the Sheraton at the Convention Center. This property sits between the beach and Broadway at the Beach. One great thing about this place is that if you check with the bellstaff they will shuttle you to and from both the beach and Broadway.
If you want to stay oceanfront...Holiday Inn and the Pavilion is a good place...close to the downtown area, and you can jump on the bus to head over to Broadway (they run until 2am during season) A few other hotels in that area are The Atlantica, Carolinian Best Western, Dayton House, Camelot, The Breakers...just to name a few.
Check out these websites to give you a feel for the area:

have fun! :)

Thanks for the information! I am just trying to find the best place possible. This will really help me to make a good choice.
You might experience the ';under 25 cold shoulder';...meaning many hotels in MB will not rent to anyone under 25. I%26#39;m sure the Breakers will turn you down...good luck %26amp; please let us know how you make out.
Oppsss...was thinking Breakers was 21 and over...but youre correct. Breakers will not rent to another under 25, unless you are married :)
Most of the other hotels listed will rent to under 25, some with, some without a deposit. I do know that the Shearton at the Convention Center will rent to 18 and up without a deposit, as long as they are paying with a credit card.
Spring is already here at the beach! Everyone walking the beach in swimsuits...78 and sunny today! Yea!!
I%26#39;m in a bit of the same boat you are in. I looked on a few sites to see what I could find. Get yourself one of these:

I think it is a good deal. Order before 3/10/06 and save $5. It shows you a bunch of clubs and resturants where it works. It should pay for itself in a hurry. Also, there is a little description of each place, so you have an idea what the club, etc. is all about. Also... it gives deals on cab rides. That DEFINATELY may come in handy. I%26#39;m going down there March 8-12. Wish I was going the same time you were - I%26#39;d buy u 2 some drinks! Have fun and I wish you the best of luck. I know some people down there, so I may be able to get you some more inside information if you wish. I just signed up for this so I don%26#39;t know how it works or how replies go, but I think they come to my e-mail. I%26#39;ll be looking to hear from you.

The MB VIP is a pretty good deal...but you may also want to check with either the bellstand or concierge desk where you are staying..many of the clubs, restaurants and yes, even cab companies have passes or coupons that are there for the asking --- and if its a top notch staff, you wont even have to ask, just tell them that youre looking at going out and having a great time --- they%26#39;ll take it from there! Have a great time!
As for Myrtle Beach Tours...ok for those that dont mind pretty strict rules...be sure to read the fine print on the contract!
