I have a reservation for spring break at sands ocean club. After reading the reviews(not good)I am thinking maybe I should look at renting a private condo or something. We are traveling with another family there will be 9 of us total. Does anyone have any information that may convince me to keep my reservation at Sands?

Not for sure if I can offer you any reason to stay at Sands Ocean Club -- out of the Sands resorts, probably one of their lower level properties. I really like the Sand Dunes...nice place.
Guess too, its the beach up where the Sands Ocean is at. Seems like at high tide...no beach at all...but there are some cute condos in that area (Shore Drive) You may check out www.vrbo.com and look at:
maisons, pelican landing, or a place at the beach.
