I am staying at the long bay and am hoping to hear good things about its cleanliness. I have read many yucky reviews on other hotels and seen nasty pictures. I hope to hear from others that have stayed and thoughts on location and service too! I am just nervous as my vacation gets closer. Never been to Myrtle Beach and want it to go smoothly!
Thanks for the input!!!
booked at long bay, input on cleanliness, service, location!!!
Its funny how when your vacation dates get closer you start worrying about making the wrong decision on where to stay, isnt it?
I think you will really enjoy the Long Bay. The area the property is located in is one of my personal favorite! The beach is nice and wide there, even at exteme high tides! Its a clean and very safe beach too. Not too far from a surf zone (if you like to do that, or would like to try!)
The property itself is probably less than 2 year old...I know that there has been some reviews about restricted views, so you may want to inquire on that if that%26#39;s important to you (there is a smaller building called the Savoy right in front of some of the rooms)That would be my only concern. Other than that, a few restaurants close by -- Martins, River City, Ultimate California Pizza -- beach front bars, be sure to check out St Clements, a great tourist/locals hangout. Your not far from grocery stores, some shopping and other great restaurants like Villa Mare, Liberty Tap Room and Grille, Collectors, Palms Bistro, City Bar, Cheeseburger in Paradise...almost too many to list!
Have a great time! And, quit worrying! :)

no cleanliness issues, BUT....I would find out exactly what room you will be in. They are adding on to the Ocean Reef (sister hotel just south of Long Bay) and if your room is oceanVIEW on the south side of the building, you will have a construction site for your view. I would address this before your stay. You may have to pay a little more to be oceanfront or on the north side, but if you wait, you may not be able to switch rooms.
Other than this, the Long Bay is a great choice.
